Centre for Psychiatry

Psychiatry deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases of the psyche as well as emotional disorders of an organic, affective or situational nature. Among other things, psychiatry treats diseases such as neuroses, phobias, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety.

Psychiatry is an important component in the context of an interdisciplinary multimodal pain therapy concept. The aim is to improve functionality in everyday life and at work, to prevent the pain from becoming chronic, to improve the quality of life (despite the pain) and to reduce pain and stabilise the patient psychologically.

In the individual setting, it is about working out one's own needs, finding one's own values and improving the regulation of difficult feelings. Psychopharmaceuticals can temporarily help to influence the experience of pain. Psychotherapeutically, the approach according to ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) has proven to be effective, whereby the aim is to give your own feelings and thoughts space instead of fighting against them or feeling guilty for them. You will be supported by a team of psychotherapists.
